A mother reports what her children disliked in Pokémon GO. She decided to take the initiative herself.
Every trainer who has dived into the world of Pokémon GO at least once knows about PokéStops. These are based on real locations and can be anything from a power box to the biggest sights in an area.
A mother on Reddit reports that her children are enthusiastic players of Pokémon GO. However, all the PokéStops in their surroundings are religiously themed, which her children do not find appealing. Therefore, she saw only one option – to submit her own PokéStop.
Many hours, one PokéStop
What did the mother do? After informing herself about how to submit her own PokéStops in the game, she installed Pokémon GO. Then she leveled up her account to level 37 to gain the ability to submit her own stops in the game.
Next, she worked on creating a suitable spot that would eventually become a PokéStop. For this, she painted a power box with various animals that can be found underwater.
In the next step, she submitted the PokéStop in the game. In Pokémon GO, there is the so-called Wayfarer program. Here, trainers can submit their own PokéStops and evaluate the submissions of other trainers.
The more PokéStops a trainer has evaluated, the higher their own submission can rise. She used this fact and evaluated about 600 other PokéStops so that her own moved up in the list and would be processed faster.
Then it was time for her own PokéStop – and it was rejected. She appealed the rejection, successfully. After all, she had achieved her goal: Her stop was accepted and, to her children’s delight, published in the game.
What the PokéStop looks like can be seen here:
What does the community say about it? As the mother reported, her children could not believe their eyes when they discovered the PokéStop in the game. But not only her children were happy about this story. The community also reacted enthusiastically to the tale.
Some of the comments on Reddit include:
- “She is definitely the mom of the year for this,” writes deirdresm
