The Twitch streamer Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller (27) has been on a “snow trip” in Switzerland with colleagues like Rumathra and Renzmann in recent days. After surviving the wilderness of Canada in 7 vs. Wild, he is now worrying his fans. In a clip, it looks like he is falling into a frozen lake: In reality, he just fell “on” the lake. It still looked dangerous.

This clip is concerning people: The Twitch clip is from Saturday, January 27: Papaplatte is riding a bicycle close to a frozen lake. You can see the lake from Papaplatte’s first-person perspective.
He even says, completely without Anglicisms: “Take it slow. Look, Wieland fell in here. You can’t walk on that. Okay, slow, slow, slow. My back wheel?”
Then the 27-year-old loses control of his bike and falls out of the frame to the right, screaming in horror.
In the clip, it looks like he fell into the lake, maybe breaking through the ice and now underwater. The fact that a recorded clip with the message Connection briefly lost
is played makes the situation look even more dramatic.
The clip has 105,000 views and could indeed disturb some viewers.
How does it look from another perspective? The streamer Rumathra, who is referred to as “Wieland” in the clip, also films the scene. You can see him nudging Papaplatte to free his back wheel.
From this perspective, there is reassurance: The ice layer of the lake, which supposedly cannot be walked on, held, and the fall was probably quite mild.
Papaplatte also reports from Switzerland via Twitter: The trip was wonderful but stressful.
How is the clip being discussed? On Livestreamfails, Papaplatte is not as well-known as he is in Germany, so people are surprised by the action:
- Why did he think that would work? Why didn’t he just ride one meter further left?
- Looked much worse from Papaplatte’s perspective, but it was actually nothing
- Falling into ice-cold water could have been really dangerous
- The other streamer pushed him because his back wheel was stuck in something, that’s why he fell
However, this is not the first accident of Papaplatte that has garnered international attention for the streamer.
