In Call of Duty: Warzone, players are currently wondering what the mysterious wolf howling is all about. It has been getting louder for several weeks now.
This is what the sounds are about: At several locations in the Warzone, such as at the dam, howls from wolves or dogs can be heard. These sounds have been around since March, but now there are more and more reports of it, and it seems like the howling is getting louder.
There are quite a few theories about what might be behind the sounds.
Are wolves coming to the Warzone soon?
Is a map change imminent? There have been speculations about a map change for some time. Even one of the biggest leakers around Warzone has already commented on this.
Additionally, there are rumors about the mysterious bunker facilities. A developer recently mentioned in an interview that players will soon see an area of the map they don’t know yet.
The wolf howling could indicate that there is more to discover somewhere behind the bunkers or the dam, and that is where the howling of the wolves is coming from.
Is there a connection to the single-player? Those who have played the Modern Warfare campaign have faced the villain “The Wolf”. It is possible that the wolf howling is connected to this character, who could still play some role in the Warzone.
Are they just dogs? There is some disagreement about whether it might not be wolves at all, but just dogs. These animals have played a role in other parts of Call of Duty.
There, they could be used as a killstreak, and several dogs would support your team with kills. In the first official Warzone trailer, attacking dogs were also seen.
So the howling could also be a sign that more dogs are returning to Call of Duty. After all, a player recently had a bug with man’s best friend. A dog suddenly appeared as a weapon in his game, even though there are currently only enforcers.
It remains to be seen what Infinity Ward aims to achieve with this howling and whether in the end it will be dogs or wolves playing a role in the Warzone.
