More and more players of Throne and Liberty are complaining about bots that negatively impact the gaming experience in the open world as well as in dungeons.
How do the bots affect the game? About a week ago, just days after the launch of Throne and Liberty, the first reports of bots in NCSoft and Amazon Games’ new MMORPG emerged. Similar to Lost Ark, the problem is growing day by day in T&L, which is reflected in the increasing number of reports from the community.
The increasing number of bots affects the gaming experience in several ways:
- Countless bot characters farm specific creatures and resource sources in the open world that can be turned into Lucent. For example, they target animals that may drop rather rare ingredients for powerful cooking recipes.
- In the instanced, cooperative 6-player dungeons, characters with cryptic names like Zdwadaedawd are regularly appearing. Sometimes they fight only as a cover. Often enough, they do just enough to avoid being kicked, while the five “normal” players do most of the work.
- According to various reports, many dominating guild alliances are relying on bots. They are spreading out in the open Abyss dungeons in the game world to farm them extensively.

When will Amazon Games react?
How is the community reacting to these reports? In countless threads and even more comments, affected players confirm the reports about the increasing number of bots.
- Daish22 complains on Reddit: “I reported 37 bots from the same guild on my server. I recorded hours of video and used the enemy list to track them. Some players even openly justify botting by claiming it’s not a real bot, but just third-party programs that execute macros and allow their characters to farm mobs while they are AFK.”
- spekatt criticizes the publisher (via Reddit): “I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Just like New World. Just like Lost Ark. Amazon Games does nothing against cheating. Cheating and RMT are allowed because they do not punish people. There are 0 in-game GMs, there is 0 customer support.”
- Travalgard explains on Reddit: “This game was originally supposed to launch with an autoplay feature […]. You don’t even need a complicated macro. Just hit ‘R’, activate the 3-second auto-scan for mobs, and all you need now is an autoclicker that clicks the first mob in the list every 3 seconds. The game was made for botting.”
Just one of many threads on the topic of bots in Throne and Liberty:
Some Reddit users note that bots are usually fought in large waves and not individually. This was also a strategy that Amazon Games employed in Lost Ark. However, it is unclear when the first ban wave will occur.
Currently, it seems that the lessons learned from New World and Lost Ark, which Amazon Games spoke about ahead of the launch of Throne and Liberty, have not yet borne fruit. The combination of a Free2Play entry and an auction house with real money currency does the rest to attract countless bot users.
