With Mordhau comes a new sword fighting game in the style of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare or For Honor on Steam. Just before release, the developers released a new trailer and revealed the features.
What is Mordhau? Mordhau is a so-called “multiplayer slasher,” where you face off against each other on battlefields similar to shooters. Instead of various firearms, you use swords, axes, bows, and crossbows.
For fans of this type of games, the following were released before Mordhau:
- Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
- Mount & Blade
- For Honor
Mordhau supports battles with up to 64 players simultaneously, battling to the death in a realistic world. You can play in first or third person.
The name of the game, Mordhau, is derived from a particularly brutal sword strike that is frowned upon by many swordsmen. In this, the fighter takes their sword by the blade and kills the opponent lying on the ground by striking the pommel through their helmet.

Here are the features of Mordhau: Mordhau offers you numerous features in the game:
- Battlefields with up to 64 players
- Horde mode with co-op and offline functionality
- Special gameplay styles for melee and ranged combat
- Character customization for weapons and armor
- various weapons such as swords, bows, catapults, and ballistae
- realistic combat physics that simulate the impact of hits
- removable limbs
- mounted combat
