Since September 27th, the Moonlight Celebration event is in Genshin Impact. The great fish claymore named Luxurious Sea Lord and its ascension material are available there as rewards. MeinMMO shows you how to obtain the weapon.
How do you start the Moonlight Celebration event? The quest line “Moonlight Celebration 1” for the Moonlight Celebration event automatically appears in your quest menu when you have Adventure Rank 28.
Additionally, you must have completed chapters 1-3 of the acts “A Rising Star” and “Trulla”. You also need to complete Act 1 of the quest “Gourmet Trip to Mondstadt”.
The quest line “Moonlight Celebration 1” begins in Liyue. First, you need to go to the Wanmin restaurant, where Xiangling is already waiting for you. After a lengthy conversation, you set off with Xiangling to talk to various people about their favorite dishes. A very nostalgic and humorous journey awaits you.
How to start the quest for the Luxurious Sea Lord: After finishing “Moonlight Celebration 1”, you automatically unlock two new quests: “The Many Affairs of the Full Moon Dance” and “Cooking Class with Kitchen Machine – Part 1”.
The former sends you to Linyang, who is standing at the upper docks of Liyue. She unlocks the quests for the Luxurious Sea Lord and its ascension material for you.
How to obtain the Luxurious Sea Lord Claymore
Which event quest gives you the weapon? After talking to Linyang, you will know that you need to find Moon Dance Talismans and Chests of the Mysterious Moon. Now you can go to the “Moonlight Hunter” quest in the event tab. There you will see that you need 100% collection progress to obtain the Luxurious Sea Lord.
In total, there are 30 Moon Dance Talismans and 40 Chests of the Mysterious Moon to find. Each talisman gives you 2% collection progress, while a chest only gives 1%.
Now you can either search all of Liyue to locate the area where the talismans and chests are, or you can talk to Linyang again. She will give you hints on where to search within Liyue.

Ascension material for the Luxurious Sea Lord
Which event quest gives you the ascension material for the weapon? The ascension material called “King’s Balsam” is obtained when you go to the event tab and complete all challenges for “Path of Delicacies”.
Where does the Path of Delicacies start? The event quests for the Path of Delicacies start at the “Yaoguang Depths”, which you can easily glide to by aiming for the Statue of The Seven.
To receive buffs for your team during the challenge, you can offer delicacies. You do this directly through the event tab. If you sacrifice at least 5 dishes by the end, you will receive 2 large EXP books and 20,000 Mora as a reward.
Once you defeat a mob, a “Wind Path” will appear, leading you directly to the next challenge. This way, you don’t have to search long and can quickly finish off the monster mobs one by one. The last mob including the boss gives you the first ascension material for the Luxurious Sea Lord.
When and where do you obtain the other ascension materials? The other quests will be unlocked gradually over the next few days. So far, you can obtain the Sea Lord and 1x King’s Balsam.
Who can profitably equip the weapon? The Luxurious Sea Lord claymore lives up to its name: It is one of the best weapons that free-to-play players can get for their characters. All characters that use claymores can benefit from this weapon. Especially:
- Diluc
- Eula
- Beidou
- Sayu
If you upgrade the weapon to its maximum level, it has the following stats:
- Base Attack: 454
- Sub Stat: Attack 55.1%
- Elemental Skill Damage: 24%

You should definitely take the weapon with you if you have the opportunity. It’s worth it.
