The biggest German streamer on Twitch is Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris. He surprisingly disappeared from Twitch and social media for a week and even announced an indefinite break on Saturday. After many were concerned about his family, the streamer now clarifies: He had dental surgery and was under full anesthesia. However, there seem to be other private reasons.

- MontanaBlack is the biggest German streamer on Twitch. He has become a prominent figure in the gaming scene with streams of Call of Duty, FIFA, and Fortnite. With controversial views and gambling streams, he has also gained notoriety beyond that. For instance, he had a public conflict with satirist Jan Böhmermann.
- After two problematic actions regarding NFTs, MontanaBlack was missing from Twitch and social media for a week. On Saturday, he announced a break from Twitch, stating that he had reached the “lowest point of his life.”
- An online site, Watson.de, even headlined “MontanaBlack announces career end.” Fans speculated in the comments that perhaps something had happened to MontanaBlack’s grandparents, to whom he is so close. However, Monte can’t let that all stand.

He also states that his grandma, grandpa, and his dog Kylo are doing well.

Why is he withdrawing?: MontanaBlack had said that both physically and mentally, he had reached the lowest point of his life. At least his physical condition is now explained: He had undergone a procedure for nearly 5 hours under full anesthesia on Friday to get new teeth. This has taken quite a toll on him physically.
What is weighing on him mentally, he does not say.
MontanaBlack says: He has a “heavy phase in his mind” and wants to take time for himself now, without YouTube and Twitch. He doesn’t know how long this phase of self-reflection will last. Everything from one day to one month is possible.
