Capcom posted today on March 12, 2024, the news that Monster Hunter World has sold over 25 million copies. This makes it the most successful Capcom game of all time. The calculation includes the base version of the game as well as the Iceborne Master Edition. The entire series reached over 97 million sales by the end of 2023.
Monster Hunter World is ahead of Capcom successes like Resident Evil 5 or Street Fighter 2. The special thing about these large sales is that the game will turn eight years old in August and recently experienced a small hype again.

A new Monster Hunter title is expected in 2025

However, one thing is clear from the trailer: Capcom is working on a true sequel to Monster Hunter World, with all its production values.
When exactly the game will be released is still unknown. However, 2025 has been confirmed as the year. New information for the game is expected to follow in the summer of this year.
