2nd free update coming April 19 – Here is the trailer
New siege quest: Hunt the Kulve Taroth with up to 16 players – Quest ends on May 3
You will be able to collaborate in a completely new type of siege quest to defeat the golden elder dragon. All players in the gathering hub can work together in this quest. The gathering location can hold four groups of four players each, resulting in a total of 16 players working together.
Here is how the new siege quest works:
- The quest will be available for a limited time for 2 weeks and will return at an unknown time.
- All 16 hunters can collect the tracks of the Kulve Taroth
- Together, you will destroy the parts of the elder dragon and reduce its energy
- However, you will only be able to join as a solo player or with up to four players at a time. The progress counts for all 16 hunters.
- This way, everyone contributes to the investigation of the Kulve Taroth and increases the chances of success and rewards
- Even if a separate hunting group delivers the final blow, all contributors will receive a reward
- When the monster’s horns are destroyed, the Kulve Taroth is defeated
- The investigation of the Kulve Taroth can be played solo or with up to four hunters
- The quest can only be accepted in the gathering hub at the quest counter
New relic weapons are also rewards from this quest:
You will receive relic weapons as rewards from the siege quest. These weapons have no fixed values and must be assessed first. To get your desired relic weapon, you should complete the quest as often as possible.

Quest of the new monster: “Banquet in the Earthen Hall” – Collect golden tracks to unlock
The Kulve Taroth will encounter players in the quest “Banquet in the Earthen Hall,” which is available from hunter rank 16. In optional quests and investigations, you will come across golden tracks after the update. If you collect enough of them, the quest will be unlocked.
Here is what is known so far about the golden Kulve Taroth:
Four decades ago, members of the first fleet secured the elder dragon Kulve Taroth for the first time. Now it is time to investigate him in detail. He cloaks his massive body in shiny metal, and the Eldorado Caves are seemingly bathed in gold that Kulve Taroth has gathered over a long time.
His ecology and fur change with each appearance, so a careful investigation is necessary. In the depths of the caves lies a source of strong geothermal energies. This is believed to be Kulve Taroth’s nest.
Here is what is known so far about the Eldorado Caves:
The Eldorado Caves are a special network of caves shaped and influenced by both the Eternal Flow and the minerals collected by the Kulve Taroth. The nest area of the Kulve Taroth, which has not been discovered so far, is believed to be located in the deepest regions of the caves, which emit incredible amounts of geothermal energy.

New alpha and beta armors for Palicos and hunters
Using materials gathered in the Kulve Taroth quest, new alpha and beta armor sets, as well as gear for the Palico, can be crafted.
- Armor set: Kulve Taroth α

- Armor set: Kulve Taroth β

Additionally, playing the quest unlocks new delivery requests through which you can craft cosmetic armors and the samurai set for the Palico. Cosmetic armors allow you to maintain the skills and attributes of another armor while changing the appearance.
- New cosmetic set

The update will be released on Thursday, April 19, for free on PS4 and Xbox One. The quest will remain in the game for a total of 2 weeks. What do you say about this update?
