Three monsters are known from an old leak that will likely come to Monster Hunter World. We show you which ones they are.
Before the release of Monster Hunter World, a major leak surfaced with monsters that were supposed to make it into the game. After Monster Hunter World was released, it gradually became clear that this was a “true” leak.
All monsters that are currently in the game were indeed on this list. The complete leak can be seen on Imgur.
There are still three monsters left from this leak that have not yet been announced for Monster Hunter World. Since every single monster from the leak has made it into the game so far, it is highly likely that these three will also come.
Update January 6, 2019: Lunastra has now been added to Monster Hunter World. This makes it even more likely that Oroshi Kirin and Alatreon will also find their way to Monster Hunter World.
Oroshi Kirin – The Dark Unicorn
- Monster Type: Elder Dragon
- Element: Ice
- Status Attack: Ice Damage
- Weakness: Fire, Water
- Related Monsters: Kirin
Description: Oroshi Kirin is a subspecies of Kirin and also an Elder Dragon. Bright stripes run through the dark blue fur of Oroshi Kirin. Particularly striking are its bright red eyes and glowing horn.
Oroshi Kirin controls ice and is capable of producing protective ice shards. When hunters come into contact with Oroshi Kirin’s ice blocks, they suffer ice damage. If the creature is in rage mode, no weapon sharpness can penetrate its fur.
The Oroshi Kirin is just as extremely fast as the normal Kirin and can also perform many varied attacks.
Alatreon – The Dragon of Darkness
- Monster Type: Elder Dragon
- Element: Dragon, Ice, Thunder, Fire
- Status Attack: Dragon Damage, Ice Damage, Snow, Thunder Damage, Fire Damage
- Weakness: Ice, Water, Dragon, Fire
Description: Alatreon is also known as the fire-black dragon because it embodies fire and darkness. Those who get too close to the beast can expect to be torn apart by this dragon.
The special feature of Alatreon is that it possesses an elemental instability. The dragon can use the elements dragon, fire, thunder, and ice. Alatreon is also referred to as a living natural disaster. Furthermore, its elemental instability even directly influences the weather.
The monster has a ground and flight mode. In flight mode, it can generate an ice crystal rain. Some ice crystals fall randomly, while others plummet directly onto the hunters.
Lunastra – The Flame Empress and Guardian of Omens
- Monster Type: Elder Dragon
- Element: Fire, Dragon
- Status Attack: None
- Weakness: Dragon, Ice
- Related Monsters: Teostra (Male)
Description: The Lunastra is the female counterpart to the Teostra and also exhibits similarities to a lion. Her head is adorned with a large mane. In between is a skull plate that crowns the head of Lunastra.
Lunastra produces a lightly flammable powder, which she disperses in the air with her wings. She can rub her teeth against one another like flint, creating a spark. The spark ignites the powder around her, resulting in massive explosions.
Just like Teostra, Lunastra loses her fire abilities once she has been poisoned or when her skull plates are destroyed.
These three Elder Dragons have NOT yet been officially confirmed. But even Deviljho is on the leak list, and he is now coming as the first DLC monster.
