Until now, it was unknown what the film about Monster Hunter by director Paul W.S. Anderson would be about. Now, first details about the planned plot are known. However, it has little to do with the world as fans know it from Monster Hunter World.
Recently it became known that former Hellboy actor Ron Perlman will star in the upcoming Monster Hunter film, and now there are new details about the plot.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the film is supposed to take place partially in our real world.
Soldier enters the world of Monster Hunter
What is the film about? Apparently, Anderson has decided to connect the real world with the world of Monster Hunter. According to this new plot, the main character, a soldier, is somehow transported through a portal to another dimension.
The film’s plot revolves around Artemis, the leader of a UN military force, played by Milla Jovovich, who lands in a dimension inhabited by monsters. There she meets a hunter with whom she allies to close the portal and prevent monsters from attacking Earth.
The plot may sound strange to many fans: after all, the Monster Hunter game series has nothing to do with the real world.
What is the story in the games? Although the story campaigns in the Monster Hunter spin-offs are often a means to an end to introduce players to the mechanics and prepare them for the endgame, there is still a story to follow.
In Monster Hunter World, the story revolves around the Elder Dragon Zorah Magdaros, which threatens the new world. The campaign is quite extensive.
The first plot did not go down well
Some time ago, the planned story for the film looked different. In this version, an ordinary American discovers that he descends from ancient monster hunters.
He then embarks on a journey into the world of Monster Hunter to become the ultimate hunter and prevent the monsters from attacking our world.
