The tempered Deviljho came just as surprisingly and quickly to Monster Hunter World as it disappeared again. However, Capcom confirmed that the world eater is coming back and it won’t be too long.
Shortly after the Deviljho was added as the first DLC monster to Monster Hunter World, an event quest for the game was unexpectedly released. Over the weekend of March 24th – 25th, players could undertake the quest “Cucumber Time”. In the quest, a tempered Deviljho appeared, providing players with a real endgame challenge. Tempered monsters are stronger variants that have much higher attack power.
The Deviljho posed a significant challenge to many hunters, as we reported here: The tempered Deviljho is absolutely destroying players in Monster Hunter World. Most hunters were thrilled by the challenge and received a decent reward with an increased drop chance of warrior and hero streamstones. These are required for augmentation to make the equipment suitable for the endgame.
Most event quests are available in the game for one week. Therefore, some hunters find it bitter that “Cucumber Time” was only around for one weekend and is already gone. Neither the start of the quest was announced nor the end of it.

The quest for the tempered Deviljho is returning for the Spring Blossom Festival
However, it was announced on Capcom’s official Japanese Twitter that the quest “Cucumber Time” is coming back to Monster Hunter World. It states (translated with Google Translate): Monster Hunter World delivered the event quest “Pulse Strike, Instinct” on weekends only on March 24th and 25th. This quest is scheduled to be distributed during the Astera Festival (Flowering Banquet) during the period April 6. – April 19.
At some point between April 6 and 19, the tempered Deviljho quest will reappear. The tweet does not indicate whether the tempered Deviljho will also roam through investigations in the game in the future. Only the repetition of the event quest was confirmed.
The “Cucumber Time” will be part of the major Spring Blossom event that brings more new content to Monster Hunter World.
While the tempered Deviljho is already gone, another event quest is still worthwhile right now. Until March 30, you still have the chance to unlock more investigations for tempered elder dragons. These are also useful for farming hero and warrior streamstones. You can find the details here: The quest “Monitoring the Delivery” is worthwhile!
Otherwise, you can use the time to practice on the “regular” Deviljho to show the tempered variant in April what you’ve got: Here’s how to unlock the normal Deviljho in Monster Hunter World and get tips for the fight.
