Fans of The Witcher and Monster Hunter World were eagerly awaiting the release date of the Witcher event. Now Capcom has revealed when the crossover between the RPG giants will start.
When does the event start? The crossover between two of the biggest games of recent years is set to begin on February 8th, at the beginning of next month. Capcom has referred to the crossover as a title update. Unfortunately, PC players will have to wait as the update will initially only be available for PS4 and Xbox One.
This means there will initially be a free download for everyone. It’s likely that the crossover will be permanently added to the game as it was the case with Behemoth and the collaboration with Assassin’s Creed. However, how exactly the crossover will unfold is still unclear.

Shall we step into the shoes of the witcher Geralt?
These are the hints about the content of the crossover: Initially, we have Capcom’s description. It states only that there will be “brand new quests” related in some way to the RPG elements of The Witcher 3. From this, “a new player experience” will emerge.
The content was developed in collaboration with the Witcher developers from CD Projekt Red, with the original voice actors of Geralt of Rivia participating in several languages, including German.
Will we be able to play as Geralt? So far, there has been no official confirmation, but in response to fan inquiries, the official Twitter account for Monster Hunter World confirmed that we will indeed be able to play as the witcher himself.

Many questions remain open. Will there be a decorative armor set for Geralt, like the one already available for Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, or Bayek from Assassin’s Creed Origins? What kinds of quests and RPG elements will there be?
Fans are certainly hoping for new content, possibly even a monster from the Witcher universe making its way into the world of Monster Hunter.
We still have to wait until February 8th. But before that, other events are starting.
