The franchise Monster Hunter is finally coming to Europe and the USA. Monster Hunter World offers 4-player multiplayer action, with a release planned for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We have information about the gameplay and the trailer.
The Monster Hunter franchise is incredibly popular in Japan: The problem is that Monster Hunter never really made the jump to consoles and PC. The franchise is mainly represented in Asia and on handheld consoles. The title “Monster Hunter Online” was indeed for PC, but it was not released here in Europe, and a fan translation into English has failed. So far, Monster Hunter has not really been available for our “mainstream gaming” market.
That is set to change now. Capcom is bringing “Monster Hunter World” to us in Europe as well. The game was announced yesterday at the Sony press conference.
The reveal trailer for Monster Hunter World
Monster Hunter means: big swords, even bigger monsters. The franchise lives from the fact that the battles against huge beasts are at the center, and players must prepare for this. They carve up defeated monsters and create armor and weapons from their parts for the next battle. Then they devise a strategy, consider the environment and the unique abilities of the beast, and take it down – at least that’s the plan.

Release date for PS4, Xbox One, and PC – What about the Switch?
The game is supposed to be released worldwide simultaneously – early in 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One – the PC will take a bit longer. There is no information yet about a port for the Nintendo Switch. So it looks bad.
