Again, there are set photos from the filming of the movie for Monster Hunter World. They confirm the impression that was already created by other photos. It’s going to be military.
That the new film for Monster Hunter World will not stay completely true to its source material, was already the concern of many fans in advance.
The film with a $60 million budget is currently in production, which is why there are constantly new photos from the set. The latest snapshots again show heavy military equipment and cheerful soldiers.
New photos of the film from MHW released
Here’s what the new photos show: In the new images, you can see actors and military equipment in a desert area. They are posing cheerfully.

Apparently, at least part of the film will have a lot to do with the military. It may only involve the beginning of the film. Many fans would probably wish that the monsters take center stage. After all, it is an adaptation of the Monster Hunter series.
However, much indicates that the military will play a central role. Details that are currently known about the plot provide an explanation.

What is the film about Monster Hunter? The leader of a UN crew named Artemis (Milla Jovovich) somehow gets transported through a portal into the world of Monster Hunter during a mission. There, she must fight for her survival with the locals. She also has to stop the monsters from entering our world.
Previously, some set photos had already been released. Among them, a photo of Jovovich with the slingshot known from MHW. Fans were far from enthusiastic about the set photos. This probably will not change after the new images.
However, there were already firearms in Monster Hunter World before. A fan posted a picture of Solid Snake fighting a Rathalos on Twitter in reaction to the set photos. There had already been a crossover between Monster Hunter and Metal Gear on the PS2.

Alongside Milla Jovovich, rapper T.I. and Ron Perlman known from Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy will also star in the film.
Will there be new monsters in the film?
This is what the director says: According to director Paul W.S. Anderson, there will be no new monsters in the film. The focus will mainly be on monsters from Monster Hunter World and possibly other titles from the series.
I don’t need to create new monsters. There has been such a great variety of cool creatures over the years. We rely heavily on the creatures from Monster Hunter: World, […] but we also bring some from the, in my opinion, great monsters from the earlier games […]
Which monsters exactly await us is still unknown.
