The Capcom game Monster Hunter World is planning a new crossover on PS4 and Xbox One. In November, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from the “Resident Evil” series will join Monster Hunter World Iceborne. And they have brought a friend: Mr. X. There will be zombie skins.
What is it with Monster Hunter World and crossovers? Monster Hunter World has been very well received by players since its release in early 2018. One of the trademarks of the game, besides the challenging monster battles and the hunt for more loot, are the many crossovers:
- They teamed up with Horizon Zero Dawn
- Geralt from “The Witcher” made an appearance
- a extended crossover event with Final Fantasy XIV
The events are always well-made and considered highlights. In Monster Hunter World, players fought against a final boss from Final Fantasy XIV or transformed into the Witcher to go hunting.
Crossover with Resident Evil in November
This is the new crossover: As the team announced, Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil will join Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. This is expected to happen in November. A specific date is not yet known.
Additionally, there is currently no information on how exactly the event will unfold.
A trailer shows the two being attacked by zombies. However, as the trailer progresses, it becomes apparent that the zombies are actually monster hunters wearing a zombie costume.
A feared monster from Resident Evil, Mr. X, appears to be an NPC in the crossover who is friendly towards players.
The site PC Gamer believes he takes on the role of the wildlife warden. This is one of the key contacts and helpers for hunters in Monster Hunter World.
When is it coming? So far, it’s only mentioned as November. There is no specific date for the crossover with Monster Hunter World yet. For now, it will only be released on PS4 and Xbox One. A release of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne for PC is still pending.
The crossover will likely be made available for PC later. The release of Monster Hunter World Iceborne for PC is planned for January 2020.
