What happens after the end of Iceborne? The release of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has been some time ago, and many players are in the middle of the Endgame. Its center is the area “The Guiding Lands.” Here you level up your Master Rank (MR) and can unlock new monsters. We will explain which monsters those are and how the Guiding Lands work.

- Furious Yian Garuga
- Brutal Tigrex
- Silver Rathalos
- Golden Rathian
- Ruins Nergigante
Here comes the Endgame of Iceborne
These are the Guiding Lands: The Guiding Lands are an additional area and the center of the Endgame. You unlock the new map by completing your story and can level it up gradually.
With rising Guiding Lands, their wild inhabitants also grow. They become stronger until you are ultimately able to spot the secret monsters. We will explain below how you level up the Guiding Lands.
How are the Guiding Lands structured? The Guiding Lands consist of five areas known as biomes:
- Forest biome
- Coral biome
- Rotten biome
- Waste biome
- Volcano biome
How do I increase the levels of my biomes? Your task in the Endgame is now to level the biomes of the Guiding Lands. You can do this by collecting materials and tracks or hunting monsters there. You need these materials to augment your equipment.
New monsters are coming into the game
Furious Yian Garuga, Brutal Tigrex, Silver Rathalos, and Golden Rathian can be unlocked at Master Rank (MR) 70. Then you can bring your biomes to level 6. Afterward, you will find traces of the secret monsters or even the monsters themselves in the respective areas of the Guiding Lands. Now it’s time to hunt them and unlock investigations on them.
At these locations, you can find the new monsters:
- Furious Yian Garuga in the forest biome
- Golden Rathian in the waste biome
- Silver Rathalos in the coral biome
- Brutal Tigrex in the rotten biome
With the beasts, new equipment is, of course, coming your way. But note that the Furious Yian Garuga does not have its own armor set.
First reach Master Rank 70
To spot the hidden monsters, you first need to break MR 70. The leveling up runs in stages in Monster Hunter World.
This is how your levels are capped: In Monster Hunter World, there are so-called “level caps.” These are barriers that prevent your further leveling up. You need to overcome these obstacles with specific missions. All levels you have accumulated up to the completion of the quest will be credited to you afterward.
- 1. Limit to MR 23. Your first level cap in Iceborne will be lifted upon completion of the story. You can then reach MR 24 and higher.
- 2. Limit to MR 49. The next hurdle awaits you with MR 49. If you complete the task “Sleep Now in Fire,” your level cap will be raised, and your biomes in the Guiding Lands can be increased to level 5.
- 3. Limit to MR 69. With MR 69, you get the quest “Big Burly Bash,” which allows you to reach MR 70 and higher. Additionally, you can then raise your biomes to level 6.
Here you have reached your goal for now and will be able to spot the 5 hidden monsters from now on.
The Fall of Ruins Nergigante
In the course of your story, you will encounter the Ruins Nergigante from time to time. However, you can only defeat him starting from level 99. There, the quest “To the Very Ends With You” awaits you.
If you complete this task, your level cap will finally be lifted. From now on, you can hunt the Ruins Nergigante, and the biomes of the Guiding Lands can be upgraded to level 7.
You can level up in Master Rank even faster
To increase your Master Rank, you need to hunt monsters or be active in the Guiding Lands. This works through any kind of quest as long as it belongs to the Master Rank. However, there are a few tricks with which you can level up your ranks faster:
- Shara Ishvalda is the monster that gives you the most points
- Event quests often give extra MR; pay attention to the quest description
