The community of Monster Hunter World is currently occupied with a cosmetic question. It concerns certain armors with unique statistics that hunters can obtain from events. Armors like Aloy or Ryu would have many simply preferred as skins.
In Monster Hunter World, there is a rotation of event quests. Here, hunters receive new challenges and various rewards. There are some event quests with which hunters can earn special armors that change the character’s appearance. These are figures from other video games.
So far, there have been characters from other titles:
However, many hunters from the community have a problem with these armors.

The event armors have fixed stats and skills
The armors are indeed full-fledged hunter sets with their own values and skills. Many hunters simply find this unfortunate. They were looking forward to looking like Aloy or Ryu and going hunting.
However, since the armors have their own statistics, they are useless for some hunters. The values of the armors either do not match their preferences for a build or are simply too weak in the endgame.
For instance, the armor of Aloy has resistances against every element in the game and the defense is solid. However, that is not enough to compete with the other endgame armor sets.
Armors also have skills that can be useful for various builds or quests in Monster Hunter World. The skills of Aloy’s armor fit perfectly with her character and provide her with an advantage in sneaking or tracking. However, critical or attack boosts are absent, and these are crucial against powerful monsters.
Additionally, the armors are complete sets and cannot be freely combined with other armor pieces.

Fans wished the armors were skins without stats
Aloy’s armor serves here only as an example of a problem that the community has. This problem also applies to Ryu from Street Fighter V. Currently, there is also an event quest in Monster Hunter World where hunters can craft a helmet that looks like a Wobbly Worm. And this is again an armor piece with stats and its own skill.
Our reader Kokolores addressed the problem in the comments on our post about the Wobbly Worm head: “I just don’t understand why they don’t create skins that can be applied to your gear. It’s all nice and good, but it really makes hardly any sense to wear something like this. I now also have Ryu and Aloy, but I don’t know what for. If it could be put on your current gear, then that would be great.”
Such and similar statements, like that of Kokolores, can also be found on Reddit and social media.
In the Facebook group of Mein-MMO for Monster Hunter World, I started a small survey about the armors. Here too, the tendency quickly went in the direction that hunters would prefer skins instead of sets.

There are also a few opposing voices, which seem to be in the minority. These voices claim that it is better with the stats, otherwise too many would be running around with the armors and everyone would look the same.
What is your opinion on this debate? Would you prefer it if the special event armors were simply skins?
The Wobbly Worm may not be a skin, but it still looks super funny. How to get the Wobbly Worm head, we reveal here.
