On March 22, Monster Hunter World will receive its 1st DLC, which will also include the Deviljho. The content patch will also feature a large Spring Festival with rewards, adjustments to almost all weapons, and the ability to redesign your character. The DLC is free as promised.
Hunters can look forward to spring, as Monster Hunter World will be upgraded with a major update. The DLC will contain a plethora of new content and gameplay adjustments. The update will be available for free on PS4 and Xbox One.
Below you will receive a summary of the new content.
Update 2.00 brings the new monster Deviljho on March 22
Next week Thursday, on March 22, the Deviljho will come to Monster Hunter World. On PS4, the update will be numbered 2.00, and on Xbox One, the patch will be 2.0.0.0.
The Deviljho is a brutal flying wyvern that is constantly hungry due to its high body temperature. This carnivore has been observed consuming its own kind.

Craft the “Vangis Armor” from the Deviljho – Also for the Palico
In Monster Hunter World, it’s customary to harvest monsters for their body parts. Hunters craft new weapons and armor from the monster materials. This also applies to the Deviljho.
The armor that can be crafted from the Deviljho at the forge is called Vangis, and it will be available as an Alpha and Beta set. There will also be a Deviljho variant for all 14 weapon classes in Monster Hunter World.
- Vangis Armor in male and female

- Deviljho Weapons

- Vangis Armor for the Palico

“Spring Blossom Fest” runs from April 6 to April 12: Brings rewards and new food
Spring is heralded in the new world, and the gathering place will be draped in a sea of flowers. The NPCs who work here will also receive a special uniform fitting for spring. Numerous fun activities await the hunters here, primarily revolving around hunting monsters.
As there can be no festival without plenty of food, there will also be a new meal in the canteen. Hopefully, it’s not Poogie, who sits here as a flower idol on the table…

A new Great Sword also comes with the festival
Just in time for the start of the Spring Festival on April 6, there will also be materials available to craft a new weapon. This is the “Wyvern Ignition” Great Sword. What makes this weapon special is that it originated from a fan competition conducted by Capcom.
We do not yet know what stats the weapon will possess, but it will certainly look great!

Almost all weapons will receive adjustments – Here is an overview
Most weapons will receive either a buff or balance adjustments with the update. Here is a quick overview of what’s changing:
- Great Sword: Damage will be increased for charged slash abilities
- Long Sword: Improvements to the foresight slash that adjusts the timing and hitbox direction

“Mega Man” Quest for the Palico runs from April 13 to April 27
During the “Spring Blossom” festival, there will be a special event quest. With this, you will receive a ticket to craft special armor for your Palico at the forge. This will transform your cat companion into the cult robot Mega-Man in pixel style.
The appearance can be customized starting March 16: Changing gender is possible
As many players have requested the ability to change their character’s appearance, they will now be given this opportunity.
On March 16, every player will receive a free ticket that can adjust the hunter’s appearance. The ticket will then be available in the PlayStation Store and Xbox Game Store. The free ticket can only be used once! After that, tickets for appearance changes must be purchased with real money.
What the ticket can change:
- Hunter’s gender
- Hunter’s physical appearance (skin color, eye color, etc.)
- Cosmetic appearance (hair, face paint, etc.) – This is, by the way, now also possible anytime for free and without a ticket
What the ticket CANNOT change:
- Hunter’s name
- Palico names
- Palico appearance

Trolling during looting will come to an end! “Friendly-Fire” disabled
In Monster Hunter World, there was a significant loot problem. Players trolled other hunters while harvesting monsters and denied them the loot. Through the “Friendly-Fire” mechanic, other hunters could be hit by players and thus interrupted during the looting action.
Capcom promised to consider solutions and has now found one: “Friendly-Fire” will be disabled when players loot the monster.
Players are immune after completing the quest against:
- All kinds of weapon attacks
- Bombs

This brief overview summarized the major Spring Festival Update. There will also be an event quest in which you can unlock the armor of Dante from Devil May Cry.
