Capcom showcased the character creator of Monster Hunter World (PS4, Xbox One, later PC) at the Tokyo Game Show. The character creation will offer players a great variety and even take the cat companions into account. Additionally, there was new gameplay and the city Astella to see.
At the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom presented several presentations over the last few days that provided a deeper insight into the action RPG Monster Hunter World. New monsters from Monster Hunter World were introduced, and a release date was announced.
Now the developers introduced the character creator of Monster Hunter World. The game will provide you with many options to customize your own monster hunters.
Character creation offers tons of options – Also for the buddy cat
The video shows how much the appearance of your character can be customized. The demonstration includes things like:
- Facial structures
- Hairstyles
- Age
- Proportions
- Color of eyes, hair, and skin
- Facial painting
- Size
- Weight
No part of the Monster Hunter franchise has been able to create a character with such detail visually.
In Monster Hunter World, hunters can take small cats on monster hunts. These are called Palico and are useful companions. The personal Palico buddy can also be customized to your liking in the character creator. Players can decide whether the cat gets floppy or pointy ears.
Attention, minor spoiler! Once the character (a blonde, light-skinned huntress) and her cat companion are created in the demo, the intro film starts. Those who do not want to see this should watch the demonstration only up to minute 12:40.
There was also a stage presentation that showcased even more gameplay and the city Astera. Here the forge for crafting equipment is shown, as well as the archive, which includes a monster encyclopedia.
