The Behemoth’s armor is one of the strongest in Monster Hunter World. It is even considered overpowered. However, the Behemoth is really difficult to defeat, and many hunters fail against it. There is a small trick that allows you to farm the beast comfortably solo.
What is the trick for solo farming?
- Bring the Plunderblade for the Palico and the Partbreaker skill for the hunter.
- Break the horns and front legs of the Behemoth. Cut off its tail and take it out.
- Skip the kill and simply restart the mission once you have broken/cut off all parts.
- This way, you will get the parts you need for the Behemoth equipment right during the first phase of the monster.
The Elder Dragon is a tough opponent: The Behemoth makes it very tough for hunters in Monster Hunter World. If you want to kill it, it is best to be in a group, as it is difficult to take down solo. Especially uncoordinated and random groups can become a liability for each other.
The Dragoon armor is rightfully in high demand: From the Behemoth, you can forge a truly powerful armor and a Insect Glaive that perfectly matches the armor. The armor is based on the Dragoons, who, like the Behemoth itself, come from Final Fantasy.
What do Plunderblade and Partbreaker do?
The Plunderblade: With this gadget, your Palico collects monster materials during the hunt. The Plunderblade should be max level so that you can get the valuable materials for the armor.
Partbreaker: Is a skill that increases damage to individual parts of large monsters. This means you break body parts or cut them off faster. Partbreaker is found, for example, in the pants of the Diablos Nero Alpha set.
Update August 7 – Community tip: Our reader CSR Ghost left a useful tip in the comments under this article: It is best to bring the Lunastra LBG (Light Bowgun) “Styx”. Additionally, use Partbreaker, Sleep Ammo, bombs, and make sure everything is tuned to Cutting Ammo. Our reader Schicki also added that Detonation Ammo is particularly suitable for the horns (breakable).
This method is somewhat controversial in the community: This tactic is considered “cheesy” or a bit cheap by some hunters. Some hunters believe that it is not the purpose of the game to farm your gear with a trick. Others say that everyone should be able to play the game however they want.
The Behemoth is a tough nut to crack, and the trick works with two legitimate items/skills in the game and can therefore also be seen as a valid tactic. However, the feeling of finally being able to wear the armor after enduring through the Behemoth is probably much more satisfying.
With the right builds, you can even kill the Behemoth solo. This player demonstrates:
