In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can fight with two weapons. MeinMMO explains to you how to unlock the second weapon and then switch it. For that, you first need to defeat two beasts.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can take two weapons into battle for the first time. But that doesn’t happen immediately. How to unlock the second weapon and equip it afterwards can be read directly with us on MeinMMO.
Unlock second weapon and switch weapons
Unlock second weapon: If you want to unlock the second weapon, you must have already completed the first hunt against the Chatacabra. Then comes the second big hunt against the Quematrice.
As soon as you have defeated the Quematrice, go to the blacksmith Gemma in the base camp on the plain. She will briefly explain to you about the second weapons. From now on, you can equip the second weapon.
Switch weapons: If you want to switch weapons or equip a second weapon, go to your field camp. Here, switch to the “Equipment Menu” tab and go to the “Change Equipment” submenu: Here you will see all equipped items and your weapons. Go to the tab for the second weapon and choose a second weapon you would like to use.
Switch weapon while on the move or in battle: If you want to switch your weapon while on the move or in battle, you need to do that via your mount, the Saikrii. As soon as you are sitting on your mount, you can pull out your second weapon from the equipment. Without a mount, switching weapons is not possible.
