What is the game about? In Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s all about hunting increasingly larger and more dangerous monsters. You can do this alone or together with other players. The basic gameplay loop works as follows:
- You set out to hunt a monster and try to kill or capture it.
- If you are successful in your hunt, you collect various materials depending on the type of monster.
- From the collected materials, you craft stronger weapons and armor that also grant you specific bonuses.
- With improved equipment, you hunt larger and more dangerous monsters, which in turn drop new materials – and the cycle starts all over again.
There is no skill tree like in other role-playing games in Monster Hunter Wilds. Your abilities and attributes are all tied to your equipment. This allows you to change your playstyle at any time.
