If you want to craft powerful weapons from mighty creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need not only the specific monster materials but also occasionally Hunter Symbol 1, 2, or 3. We explain how to obtain them in this guide.
What are Hunter Symbols? Hunter Symbols are special materials required for various weapons to upgrade them to rarity 8. There are Hunter Symbols 1, 2, and 3, and they are not specific to a monster but are related to the quest’s difficulty.
How do I obtain Hunter Symbols? Hunter Symbols are exclusively obtained by completing investigations and quests with hardened monsters. The quest’s difficulty determines which Hunter Symbol you can receive.
- Hunter Symbol 1: You can unlock the material in 5-star investigations.
- Hunter Symbol 2: You can unlock the material in 6-star investigations.
- Hunter Symbol 3: You can unlock the material in 7- and 8-star investigations.
To see the difficulty, simply go to your map. There, you can see the monster list on the right side, along with the difficulty and which materials you are guaranteed to receive. It is important for the Hunter Symbols that the monsters are hardened.
