Since February 7, 2025, interested hunters can once again try out Monster Hunter Wilds in advance. While PC and Xbox players have happily embarked on their hunts for hours, fans on the PlayStation 5, unfortunately, are greeted only with an error message.
Why is the beta currently unplayable on the PS5? Currently, there is a disturbance in the PlayStation Network (PSN), leading to a server downtime of all PSN services (via status.playstation.com). Since midnight on February 8, 2025, players worldwide have been affected by the outage.
As a result, it is unfortunately also not possible to participate in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta. To play the beta, an Internet connection is required, which cannot be established due to the server downtime.

The servers of the PlayStation Network (PSN) are currently offline and unavailable. The beta of Monster Hunter Wilds is therefore also not playable at the moment.
Server Down Causes Frustration
When can I play again? When the servers will be back online is currently unknown. In a post on x.com, PlayStation states that they are aware of the disturbance and are working on it. The post was made at 2:46 AM on February 8 and refers to the PSN status display.
The disturbance has lasted long enough that the community is now desperately sharing memes about it (via Reddit). Although there will also be another chance to participate in the beta on the weekend of February 14, the fans are frustrated that they cannot make proper use of the time.
We will keep you updated and refresh the post as soon as the beta is playable again.
