In a developer stream, Capcom announced an update for the already released demo of Monster Hunter Rise. MeinMMO shows you why a second look is worthwhile.
What kind of Monster Hunter is this? Rise will be the next installment in the series following the successful Monster Hunter World. Initially, it will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch, but will follow for PC in 2022.
Now, developer Capcom has revealed numerous details about Monster Hunter Rise in major developer streams. This includes an update for the demo that adds a new hunting quest. In this quest, you can fight against the flagship monster Magnamalo and test your skills.
When will the new demo version be released? According to Capcom, the update will be released on March 11.
The demo returns with a powerful monster
Here’s why it’s worth it: In the new quest, you will have to hunt Magnamalo, a powerful fanged wyvern. This is the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Rise.
What is a flagship monster? These are the monsters featured on the covers of the respective installments. In Monster Hunter World, it was Nergigante, and in Generations Ultimate, it was the Elder Dragon Valstrax. These monsters play an important role in the story.
What kind of monster is this? Magnamalo appears very aggressive in the existing gameplay and can even attack with its tail. In battle, Magnamalo uses purple fire to cause difficulties for the hunters.
The monster is likely associated with the strange frenzy that makes the monsters furious in the story of Monster Hunter Rise, leading them to attack the village of Kamura, which will be your home.
In the trailer, you can see what the story is about:
The demo for Monster Hunter Rise
What else is in the demo? In the current demo version, you can choose from three different quests. You can find all the information on the official demo website.
- A kind of tutorial quest where you can familiarize yourself with the mechanics of Monster Hunter Rise.
- A quest involving riding wyverns
- A quest where you fight the new monster Great Izuchi
- A harder quest where you have to hunt monsters like Mizutsune and Rathian
In doing so, you can try out all 14 weapon classes of Monster Hunter and find your style.
How big is the demo? With the update, the demo will be around 2 GB according to the official website.
Where can I download the demo? You can find it in the Nintendo eShop and download it for free.
What you should pay attention to: In the demo, your quest attempts are limited to 30. After that, you cannot go on another hunt. However, there is a simple trick to bypass this: you just need to delete your data. This way, you can play indefinitely.
