Fans had set their minds on the English translation of Monster Hunter Online – and things are already happening!

Do you remember the announcement of a fan of Monster Hunter Online who wanted to translate the game into English with the help of volunteers? For a few days, there was silence around the project and many players feared that the project would fizzle out and be nothing more than a brief flare-up. But that was a mistake!
Update: The images shown so far are currently only edited images to help players navigate in MHO. These are not images from a possible patch.
Slowly, things are starting to move in that direction. Aslind Samure, who started the fan translation project, has published some images that at least show a rough translation of the various game menus. Accordingly, it seems that at least the most important points will be translated soon to enable general gameplay, namely: main menu, system settings, and character screen.
But the first interaction possibilities, such as the guild and chat menus, have also been gradually translated. While all the images are still “Work in Progress”, they already suggest that the quality is likely to be much better than feared.
At least in the first screenshots, it looks reasonably solid and should help all players who do not associate Asian characters with anything more than the logo of a Chinese restaurant around the corner.
On his Facebook page, Samure states that work is indeed being done on the patch.
“I have often been asked about the English patch in the past few days. Don’t worry! We are working on it! We took a 3-day break when the open beta started, but now we are back at it full force!”
A fan patch was necessary because, despite the considerable interest, there are currently no plans to port Monster Hunter Online to the West. However, the developers have agreed to collaborate with the dedicated fans and provide them with the necessary information so they can tackle the translation themselves.
