The English patch for Monster Hunter Online has a delay. We will tell you how much longer you will have to wait.
Update: In the meantime, the English patch has been released. Here we explain how to install it.
The patch is delayed due to server maintenance
In the western regions, fans have been waiting a long time to finally get their hands on an English version of Monster Hunter Online that is understandable. So far, the game is only available in the Chinese version, and according to the latest statements from the developers, a translation for the western market is not currently planned.
But fortunately, there are fans like Aslind Samure from Team HD, who have set themselves the goal of creating a fan patch that at least translates the most important menus, items, and quests so that players can navigate in the game world.
Originally, the release of the patch was planned for yesterday, May 30, 2016. However, Team HD announced at the last minute that the English fan patch will not be released on May 30 after all. The reason for this is that either today (May 31) or tomorrow (June 1), the game servers of Monster Hunter Online will undergo maintenance, which could coincide with a new game version. To avoid any complications during the release of the patch, it has now been postponed to “sometime” after the server maintenance in order to make necessary changes. The patch is therefore expected to be released later today or during the course of tomorrow.
The fans will have to be patient for a few more hours until Monster Hunter Online is finally playable in English. But after all the long months of waiting, the last hours will probably not be a hurdle.
In an FAQ, Aslind Samure points out that the patch is currently only a “beta” and that they plan to translate the entire game later. They want to work through the “important” points first and then move on to the “minor details” like NPC dialogues and similar things. By the way, Team HD does not accept donations – the team there does this completely voluntarily to serve the worldwide community.
