The long wait for all fans of Monster Hunter Online is finally over. A major English fan patch is nearly ready.

Monster Hunter Online – Finally in English
It was a long back and forth with Monster Hunter Online. Although Tencent and Capcom have temporarily ruled out an English translation of the game, they have not opposed fan projects – on the contrary, they even wanted to support them. Aslind Samure had then been working on the development of a fan patch, but eventually paused the development.
He has now returned as part of “Team HD” (Team Hunter’s Destiny) and announced on Facebook that their development of the English patch is nearly complete. Starting May 30, 2016, the patch will be available to the public so that European and American gamers can enjoy the game without having to struggle through Chinese menus.
While not all things are translated – at least the screenshots suggest that – at least menus, items, and basic game mechanics are.
What is Monster Hunter Online anyway?
Monster Hunter Online is the first “real” MMO spin-off of the Monster Hunter series. While the game still focuses on killing monsters and collecting better gear, it is far from the traditional “questing” of other representatives of the genre. The monsters you hunt must be observed and tracked, with individual fights often lasting 10-30 minutes and requiring the cooperation of the entire group.
It often happens that monsters retreat to other areas during a fight and must be found again before they recover from the battles. Additionally, each monster has one or more elemental properties, which makes good preparation and planning essential to avoid being defeated by the first fireball.
Anyone who has always wanted to try the game should mark May 30 in their calendar. We will report on it as soon as the patch is available and provide a link for download.
