The winter breaks into Monster Hunter Now. And with it come several highlights you shouldn’t miss.
This is the new season in Monster Hunter Now: We are entering the fourth season, and it is fully dedicated to winter. Among other things, the new tundra habitat is launching, including corresponding monsters.
When does it start? The new season begins on December 12, 2024, at 00:00.
What are the highlights? In addition to the new area and fresh monsters, there is a new weapon and an important change regarding Palicos.
We have listed the key points for you below.
1. Now you can customize your Palico
The Palicos support you in Monster Hunter Now from the beginning, for example with color balls. With the new season, you finally have the opportunity to customize your Palico companion. The options look like this:
- Fur color can be customized
- You can change the face
- You can give it a name
You can also take pictures of this Palico with the AR camera.
2. New adventures in the tundra
The tundra habitat is snowy and confronts you with new beasts that you already know from the Monster Hunter series. The fresh monsters are:
- Tigrex
- Lagombi
- Volvidon
- Somnacanth
In addition, the following monsters are returning:
- Barioth
- Wulg
- Cortos
You will only encounter the new monsters in the wilderness as you progress in the story quest for the new season.
- You will encounter Tigrex in hunt marathons and, if lucky, also in the wilderness.
- Lagombi may appear after the prologue.
- You will get the tundra habitat after the prologue, and it will then remain permanently.
3. The new Morph Axe
New monsters mean new challenges. To master them, you can also use the new Morph Axe. It switches between axe mode for high range or sword mode for more speed. You get it by completing chapter 2 of the pre-season story.
4. Other changes
For the new season, Niantic announced the following additional changes:
- Cheer calls that can increase your friends’ maximum health for the day
- Some sets will be updated
- There are new abilities: Critical Ferocity, Shared Shield, and Morph Boost
- New medals
- New supply items
- A season pass for the new season
- Changes to monsters in the wilderness
Overall, there is quite a lot of new things that you can discover in Monster Hunter Now starting from December 12. If you want to finish season 3, you should do that now – from season 4 on, it won’t be possible to continue progressing in the third season.
