PUBG Mobile
Developer: PUBG Corporation | Release: 09.02.2018 | Model: Free2Play | Download: Google PlayStore, Apple AppStore
What is it? PUBG Mobile is – as you might guess – the smartphone version of the battle royale classic PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. As in the “big brother”, you will jump with dozens of other players over a deserted island.
There are weapons and equipment lying everywhere. You’ll need them too, as the goal is to be the last player or team left standing. To keep the game exciting, the playing field shrinks over time.
PUBG Mobile is very successful globally. In India, it was so popular that the government classified it as youth-endangering and had it banned. Currently (as of November 2020), PUBG Mobile has over 33 million ratings in the PlayStore and a score of 4.1.
What are the special features? PUBG offers a more realistic, less colorful gaming experience compared to Fortnite. Here you will find rifles and pistols based on real weapons. Moreover, there is no building system or other frills. You can focus entirely on shooting.
To help you get familiar with the touchscreen controls and gameplay, you’ll primarily encounter dumb bots in your first matches, which are more cannon fodder than opponents. Only when you get better at the game will human opponents appear more frequently.
What does it cost? PUBG is – unlike the “big brother” on PC and console – a free-to-play game. You can certainly still spend money, namely for skins and a battle pass. With that, you gradually unlock special skins that are only available in that respective season.
Who should play it? PUBG Mobile is for fans of classic battle royale games. Ideally, you have already played the original game on PC or consoles and want this unadulterated battle royale experience on the go as well. PUBG Mobile offers you exciting fights with realistic weapons and a serious background. So if you want the pure, unembellished BR, then you are in the right place.
