The Secret World – Santa’s Evil Helper
In the horror and mystery MMO Secret World Legends, Christmas is anything but contemplative and peaceful. Because instead of a nice Santa, the dark servant, the horned Krampus, is causing mayhem. This is a devilish terror creature that appears in a special event during Christmas time and must be fought by you.
In addition, the evil giantess Hel can be fought as a new boss monster in her realm in Niflheim or as a summoning encounter in Agartha. However, even if you don’t do any of that, just logging into the game will give you special gifts, including a pet and emote.
In addition, the winter loot boxes have replaced the Halloween loot boxes in the game. Inside, there are special winter-themed items, including a polar explorer suit and a drone that looks like it was once used by Mei from Overwatch!
The eerie Krampus Night lasts until January 2, 2018.
WildStar – Off to the Big Consumption Festival!
In WildStar, there is no attempt to portray Christmas as anything other than an unbridled consumption orgy. The greedy and hyper-capitalistic Protostar Corporation has called for “Winterfest” in a massive shopping mall in the sky, and during Christmas time, all hell breaks loose!
As there is chaos and problems, you get to do funny quests every day. For example, you will have to dismantle wild sales robots, catch greedy weasels, and fix prices that are far too low just in time. After all, profit is at risk! There are also additional quests in the capitals of Thayd and Illium.
As a reward, you can get costumes and mounts. The whole Christmas fun in WildStar lasts until January 1.
Destiny 2 – Celebrate the Light with the Dawning!
In Destiny 2, Christmas is celebrated in the form of the event “The Dawning”. You can experience the Tower and the Farm festively decorated. You can pick up snowballs everywhere and use them to knock down the other guardians. Thus, the snowballs become lethal weapons that stun your opponents.
In PvP, there is the well-known game mode from Destiny 1 called the Crucible. Action and chaos reign there since you can reload your abilities faster. In the Crucible and the Strike, you can complete special Dawning milestones for special engrams. Additionally, there are new Dawning items from Tess Everis for shiny dust.
At the Tower at the Bazaar, you can pick up a “gift display”. From this, you can craft a gift once a day. Give it to a merchant, and receive your own gift in return.
Also cool: You can play ice hockey instead of football during the event! The Dawning in Destiny 2 lasts until January 9, 2018.
