Many fans of the Minecraft-like MMORPG Trove (PC, PS4, Xbox One) breathe a sigh of relief. Because Trion Worlds has brought the game’s servers back online after a massive exploit.
Economic exploit causes server downtime: Trion has not commented specifically on the bug that led to a massive exploit in the economic system. However, it was related to Trove’s “Megaflux Tanks.” These have now been completely disabled.

Furthermore, there are no more tradable loot boxes. The marketplace has been flooded with duplicated items after a community chest could be filled with an abundance of megaflux tanks.
Trion saw no other option but to temporarily shut down the servers to “clean up” the economy and deactivate the exploit.
Developers apologize. The team explains that this was a serious incident that could not have been foreseen. There will be no server rollback; instead, the downtime was used to “clean up” the economic system.
Additionally, some players who exploited the bug in an unfair and excessive manner have been banned. Trion Worlds believes that most players will likely notice no changes to the game besides the downtime.
Compensation is coming. The development team will compensate players for the server downtime of Trove. What this compensation will look like has not yet been revealed. Trion Worlds plans to come up with something for this. Trove is now regularly playable again.
