Swords of Legends Online (SOLO) is an Asia MMORPG that was released in the West in summer 2021. However, it never really took off. In March, the MMORPG plans to re-establish itself with a major expansion, new regions, and Free2Play.
Update February 16: The new update 2.0 and the transition to Free2Play have been postponed. The adjustments originally scheduled for February 24 have been moved to March 3. The release in Russia is also supposed to take place on that day.
What is happening with SOLO? With the new expansion “The Firestone Legacy”, the MMORPG will become Free2Play. Everyone can create an account and dive into the game world. There will be no restrictions.
Those who have previously purchased Swords of Legends will receive exclusive cosmetic rewards as a reward. Furthermore, it is stated that no Pay2Win elements will be added to the shop in the future. The SOLO shop is considered extremely fair.
With the expansion, several new contents will also be introduced, including:
- The new classes Fox Mage and Warrior
- A new max level, for which you can climb up 37 more levels, to level “Sage”
- Additional character slots
- 5 new areas – Changfu Garden, Langquan Bridge, and Sword Peaks of Taihua Mountain, as well as the two areas Paradise of Snowing Blossoms and Changhe Mountains, where the new classes will level up
- The new story chapters 11 and 12
- 5 new dungeons and 2 raids
- New maps for 3v3 and 10v10 arena PvP
- A race with flying mounts
When will the update be released? Patch 2.0 and the transition to Free2Play are scheduled for March 3.
How much does the expansion cost? Nothing at all, the content will be released completely free of charge.

New Classes are the Highlight of the Expansion
What makes the Fox Mage special? The Fox Mage relies on the power of thorns and blossoms and can either deal damage to enemies or take on the role of a healer.
The Fox Mage also comes with a new body type, which Gameforge refers to as “girl”. This adds a class to SOLO that appears rather childlike.
What makes the Warrior special? The Warrior gets two different specializations, one focused on damage and the other making the Warrior a classic tank.
Male Warriors will continue to be played as large men, while the female version only has access to the “girl” body type.

Swords of Legends is Coming to Russia
Another new feature for Swords of Legends will be the release in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. This is supposed to take place simultaneously with the expansion’s release. Russian players will not find any Russian texts at launch, but these are supposed to be added in the course of the second quarter of 2022.
