In the MMORPG Star Trek Online, the story continues against the backdrop of the Discovery series. This time, two special characters are involved: the controversial Captain Lorca and his chief of security, Commander Landry.
What is the next update of Star Trek Online about? The next update in the story cycle “Age of Discovery” of Star Trek Online will be named “Rise of Discovery.” It will focus on the backstory of Captain Lorca and his chief of security, Commander Landry.
Captain Lorca was known as a controversial character in the series due to his unusually tough and uncompromising nature for a Federation officer. Commander Landry, on the other hand, was an interesting personality who, unfortunately, met an unexpectedly brutal end after just two episodes in the series.
Therefore, fans of the two Starfleet officers should particularly enjoy the next two episodes of Star Trek Online, as Commander Landry and Captain Lorca play a significant role there. You are supposed to help Landry rescue the stranded Lorca from Klingons.
Interestingly, the whole story is set before the start of the Discovery series and reveals some new details about Lorca and Landry.
As is typical for Star Trek Online, the two characters in the game are voiced by their original actors, Jason Isaacs and Rekha Sharma.
When is Rise of Discovery coming out? The new update for Star Trek Online is set to be released on May 14, 2019.
What else is included in the update? In addition to the new story about Lorca and Landry, there will be new gameplay content:
- The new Tier-6 reputation “Discovery Legends,” with which you can earn new rewards in Task Force Operations.
- Ships at Tier 6 can now be piloted by all players and scale according to the player’s level.
