In March, Gamigo announced a Battle Pass for the MMORPG Rift, without providing information about the contents. Now there is a detailed plan for the first season.
What’s included in the Battle Pass? The Battle Pass allows you to complete 30 levels of rewards in a season. There are 5 daily and 3 weekly quests available.
As a loyal player, which costs an additional 10 to 13 Euros per month, there are two more daily quests and special rewards.
Overall, the rewards of a season are divided as follows:
- For free, you receive a new artifact set, which is also supposed to include premium service items.
- As a Battle Pass user, you receive various cosmetic items such as a new “Great Balls of Fire” mount.
- As a loyal player, there are additional premium rewards like Lock Boxes and loyalty points.
- The complete rewards can be viewed on the test server.
How much will the Battle Pass cost? The Battle Pass is expected to cost 9.99 Euros. There will also be a feature to gift the pass to other players.
When does the first season start? The first season is expected to start soon. However, Gamigo has not yet announced a specific date.
There is also currently no information on the length of the season. There is only a note that they will announce the end at least one month before the start of the second season.
The loyal players are not thrilled
In the forum, the new Battle Pass is being discussed by players. Many loyal players are also voicing their opinions.
What the players say: Many are surprised that, despite already paying monthly, they are still being asked to pay more. This does not change the fact that they can potentially receive a few more rewards.

If you want to charge Free-to-Play players like this, then I’m not 100% satisfied with the method, but I would understand it.
Instead, you tell me that on top of the $15 per month I already throw at the company, I should pay extra to receive content for a game that has not been significantly expanded in a long time.
And then I am not paying for expansion level content, but for something that in most other MMOs would simply be released for everyone as a small content patch.
What about the future of Rift? Even during the acquisition of Trion, it became clear quickly that the teams of the games Rift and Trove were drastically reduced. In March, the Classic servers of Rift were shut down due to a lack of capacity.
Apparently, Gamigo is now trying to make the MMORPG a bit more profitable and generate new revenue through the Battle Pass. Whether that will succeed will be shown in the soon-to-start first season.
