The indie MMORPG Broken Ranks celebrated its release in 2022 and has been continuously developed since then. In April 2023, the new boss Sidraga was introduced to the game. It took until September for the first group to defeat the Winged Lady.
What kind of boss was it? Sidraga was part of a new endgame instance designed for players level 135+. Just reaching there takes months of grinding. The instance was released on April 4, 2023. However, a lot of time passed before the final kill.
It took the first group 7 days just to solve the first puzzle and reach the dungeon. The first boss was only defeated on June 8, and from then it took another three months until on September 9, the same five players achieved the World First. They were:
- DAAISSY
- DUFFYY
- KALIŚ
- LUJFAJA
- LUNGO
All of them were at level 140, the current max level of the MMORPG. They alone needed 890 attempts for the kill. An attempt took on average 46 minutes. All of this can be seen from a graphic that the developers have now created in honor of the players (via Broken Ranks).

What kind of game is this? Broken Ranks is a free-to-play MMORPG that you can download from the official website of the game. A version on Steam is currently not planned. It is played in isometric perspective, similar to Lost Ark, but the game world is 2.5D and feels more like a painting with little visible depth.
The major feature is the turn-based combat system. Whenever you encounter a monster in the open world, you will be taken to a separate combat screen. There, you can choose your abilities and the type of your defense within 10 seconds, to which you can assign action points.
Content-wise, the game offers you:
- A dark story
- Numerous quests that you can complete
- Group contents like dungeons and raids that can be very challenging
- A lot of grinding to reach the max level
- A shop without pay-to-win content and with a special premium currency that you can also exchange or gift in-game
- A German localization
