The MMORPG Lost Ark will soon be expanded in South Korea with the big update Episode 2: The Great Pioneer, which brings a new continent. But we in Europe are still waiting for the game.
What is Lost Ark: The MMORPG from the Korean developer studio Smilegate has already launched in South Korea. A closed beta will take place soon in Russia.
It is played from an isometric view like in Diablo, but the online game is a classic MMORPG full of quests, monster battles, group content, and more. It looks fantastic, which is why many MMO fans around the world are eagerly waiting for it.
A big update is coming
What have the developers announced now? In the coming week, Lost Ark will receive the biggest expansion so far with Episode 2: The Great Pioneer after several smaller updates. It brings a lot of new content:
- The huge continent Yon
- You will explore underground cities
- New dungeons full of dangers await you
- You will encounter the new race of dwarves
- In the raid “Antares’ Nightmare”, you will fight the demonic boss Antares
- You can only defeat Antares in a group of eight players and must develop a sophisticated strategy for it
- On Butterfly Island, you will find the most powerful boss opponent in the game so far
- You will descend into a new dungeon on an island, where dangerous robots are waiting for you
The MMORPG will thus receive many new contents.
We still have to wait
What about a release for us? There is still no information on when we can also play Lost Ark. Smilegate only mentioned that a release in the “West” is planned.
What about the Russian beta? The closed beta is still planned for this year. However, the game is “region-locked”. This means we cannot participate. MMORPG fans had hoped that players from other countries could log in and join.
When could Lost Ark be released for us? Probably we should not expect a release in Europe before 2020. Smilegate will likely first look at the launch in Russia and then decide when it will be our turn.
What is the good news? When Lost Ark launches for us, we might receive a very extensive version that has already received several updates, including Episode 2: The Great Pioneer.
