Raids are necessary in Lost Ark to progress further. They provide you with new equipment and allow you to reach higher gear scores. However, they are tough and demand a lot from you. This is something that is set to change soon.
What will happen to the raids in Lost Ark?
- Smilegate and Amazon have already announced that raids will be adjusted for us in the West.
- In the
beginner raids
Argos, Valtan, and Vykas, mechanics have already been toned down, especially those that could wipe the entire group immediately. - Now another boss is set to be affected, the
Kakul-Saydon. The reason seems to be that players in the West are simply not good enough – and also too unfriendly.Clown
What is changing? With the June update next week, Kakul-Saydon will be adjusted. However, the exact details of these changes are still unknown.
Community manager Roxx says: The changes do not focus on removing mechanics or making content too simple, but on making wipe mechanics less punishing.
(via mmorpg.com) It is not explained how this will be possible without making the raid easier.
If you want to prepare for the clown, you can check out this guide. It’s surprisingly often that the phrase comes up: … otherwise everyone dies.
Changes only in the West – Are we too bad or too toxic?
Why are there these changes? Roxx further explains in the interview that this step is being taken to make it easier for new and returning players to catch up and reintegrate. This aspect is supposed to be the main focus of this year, according to the community manager.
The changes to the raids are also only happening for us in the West; in Korea and Russia, the bosses will remain as they are. The exact reasons for this are only speculation. However, the two most apparent reasons can be quickly explained:
Either Western players are simply worse players than in Korea. This assumption has often been hinted at, when Koreans laughed at us for the bosses we had trouble with.
Or our community is simply too toxic. That gatekeeping is a major problem in Lost Ark is no longer a secret. If worse players can trigger fewer or even no wipes at all, better players would likely be more willing to include them in their groups.
What other changes are there? Other raids will not be adjusted for the time being. Roxx states that they want to address issues like the aforementioned gatekeeping and other problems. However, there is no concrete information on this.
What do you think of the changes to Kakul-Saydon? Do you think it was necessary to tone down the boss? Or are you rather annoyed that even the toughest raids in Lost Ark are becoming easier? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
