Often, while grinding in an MMORPG, you watch YouTube videos. But in Identity, you can do that directly in the game.
Watch YouTube in the game
What is Identity? Identity aims to provide you with a kind of second virtual life, focused on a cops-and-robbers system. You can become a regular citizen of a large city or embark on a criminal career, manufacturing and selling drugs. Other players can take on the role of police officers and hunt down the dealers.
In general, you should enjoy a lot of freedom to experiment in the sandbox world.
What about YouTube? With an update, the developers have introduced that the TV in your apartment in the game actually works. You can now watch YouTube videos on it. If other players are in the apartment with you, they can watch along, as the video feed is synchronized for all players. This allows you to sit in front of the TV in-game and simply watch YouTube videos for hours.
What else has been improved? Currently, only the Town Square, the marketplace of Identity, is available. There you meet with other players, visit your apartment, and explore the area a bit. With the latest update, it’s now also possible to visit the basement of the police station. There you will find a shooting range. However, there are still no weapons available. Additionally, some bug fixes, optimizations, and new cosmetic items have been introduced.
Weapons coming soon to the game
What is the team working on now? The work has shifted to the SWAT module. This means a combat system is being developed. Soon, weapons will be introduced into the game, with which you can practice at the shooting range.
Why is it taking so long? Identity is developed by a very small team that has set itself enormous goals. Achieving these takes time. That’s why the developers are only making small steps forward. There is also no release date yet for the MMO.
