The MMORPG Ashes of Creation has provided insight into the first alpha phase. This has elicited positive reactions from many viewers. The start of the alpha and some details have also been announced.
What is currently happening with Ashes of Creation? At the end of March, the developers showcased gameplay from the first alpha in a livestream, surprising many. The showcased content was significantly better than most had expected.
Many core features such as the system around leveling areas or building houses functioned flawlessly. Additionally, the combat and graphics of the game looked good for an alpha.
In a developer letter, the head of the studio, millionaire Steven Sharif, addressed the players and shared many details about the first alpha.
When does the alpha start? The alpha for Ashes of Creation is scheduled to start in May 2020. It will indirectly compete with Amazon’s MMO New World, which is set to release on May 26.
However, the first alpha tests will consist of only a small portion of the player base and will take place only at specific times. There will initially be no 24/7 servers.
Note: Originally, it was stated in the article that there would be no NDA on the alpha test. However, there will be a confidentiality agreement for the tests of the first smaller group. Over time, the NDA will be lifted, so you can expect new information, images, and livestreams about Ashes of Creation in the foreseeable future.
Alpha is set to remain online permanently starting in autumn
How does the alpha of Ashes of Creation proceed? In May, the first testers who are part of the “Phoenix Initiative” will be invited. This refers to early and expensive packages for the game that cost over $1,000. They will be followed by the “Braver of World” backers who paid at least $400 on Kickstarter.
The first tests will take place only on specific days, which will remain the case for several weeks or months. After that, weekend tests are planned. The developers aim to have a stable and continuously running alpha 1 by autumn.
However, Sharif warns users that this is still testing, content is missing, and bugs will occur.

How do I get into alpha 1? Currently, there are no founder packages available to access the first alpha. On the website, only a “Voyager Plus Pre-Order Pack” can currently be purchased.
Although it costs $375, it only grants access to alpha 2. You can also gain access to this test with the slightly cheaper “Voyager Pre-Order Package” for $250.
If you want access to the first beta tests, you currently need to pay $150 or be friends with an alpha user. Their packages usually also include friendship codes for the beta.
