Kritika Online was released in 2017 in the West and has since gone through a turbulent history. The MMORPG has been completely shut down twice. It made a return on June 8, but has not generated much enthusiasm. Some believe that the game is getting worse with each new release.
What has been the history of the game so far?
- Kritika Online first appeared on September 28, 2017, and gained some fans with its action-packed combat system. However, it faced criticism for being rather aggressive with its shop.
- Apparently, the combat system alone was not enough to keep the MMORPG alive. On April 30, 2019, Kritika was then completely shut down.
- About six months later, in November 2019, the reboot Kritika: Reboot was launched. It was released directly on Steam and was even quite well received at first. 76% gave a positive rating at the time. However, there was also obvious Pay2Win, as players could buy equipment directly for real money. Ratings noticeably declined over time.
- Player numbers dropped below the threshold of 100 concurrent players for the first time in October 2021. At the beginning of 2022, the reboot was then discontinued.
Since yesterday, the MMORPG can be played again under the new title Kritika Global. However, the initial impression of players is more than negative.
Kritika is now a Play2Earn game with 50 dollar character slots
What’s new in Kritika Global? Quite a bit. The new version focuses on Play2Earn and blockchain. The basic idea is that you can earn diamonds by participating in PvP tournaments and sieges or by selling items on the in-game market to receive diamonds from other players.
For the diamonds, you then receive C2X tokens, a cryptocurrency. One token is currently worth 0.84 euros.
Another new feature is that you can initially only create one character, as reported by the colleagues at MMOFallout. If you want to buy a second character slot, you have to spend 50 dollars.
However, even aside from Play2Earn and the shop, there is criticism. The game is reportedly going to offer the same content as Kritika: Reboot at least at the start, but the performance is said to be significantly worse. Additionally, some content will only be released later, including the important PvP tournaments for Play2Earn. These will start only on July 3.
How can I play Kritika? If you want to try out the new MMORPG yourself, you can simply visit the official website, create an account for free, and download the game. It is free to play.
