What can players of the MMORPG Guild Wars 2 expect this year? ArenaNet has released a roadmap featuring the summer content. This includes the first new fractal in about 18 months.
Update July 16: A release date for Episode 4 of the Icebrood Saga has been announced. It is called “Jormag’s Awakening” and will be playable starting July 28.
What does the roadmap for Guild Wars 2 show? The developers have announced their plans for the third quarter of 2020. New content includes the event for the 8th anniversary of the MMORPG, which will be celebrated in style. After a rather difficult year in 2019, Guild Wars 2 is now bouncing back, as seen from the many planned contents.
What is the highlight? Players have been waiting for a new fractal since early 2019. These are instances for high-level players facing particularly tough challenges.
The new fractal takes place in the mountains. According to ArenaNet, players should prepare for a journey into dizzying heights. Further details about the challenges awaiting players will follow in the upcoming weeks.
Plenty of new content for GW 2
What else can players expect? Besides the fractal, you can look forward to additional new content. These include:
- Episode 4 of the Icebrood Saga: A new trailer will reveal how the story continues after the last episode “No Mercy“. The new episode will be released at the end of the month. Due to the Corona pandemic, it will once again be released without voice acting, as recording sessions cannot take place at the moment. A trailer with further information about the episode is planned for next week.
- Festival of the Four Winds: This event is expected in the first half of August, leading you to the beautiful Labyrinth Cliffs. Alternatively, you can participate in battles in the Crown Pavilion. There will be plenty of activities, annual achievements, and new rewards.
- New mount ability: The developers are not yet revealing what this entails.
- 8th anniversary of GW 2: Starting August 25, players will receive gifts for the 8th anniversary of the MMORPG. You will find the presents in your inbox. Additionally, there will be some surprises for the anniversary.
Summer will be exciting in Guild Wars 2.
