The German MMORPG Albion Online has provided an update on their faction system in a new developer post, which is set to make battles even more dangerous.
What kind of MMORPG is it? To understand the updates, one must first know what defines Albion Online. The sandbox MMORPG features PvP, even though it is not mandatory and has introduced many PvE modes over the years, a hallmark is the faction war.
Here, the various factions of Albion Online battle against each other in PvP. There are different areas, many of which allow players to be completely looted after being defeated, some even allowing the equipment of players to be taken.
These harsh consequences in PvP provide fans with excitement and joy at the same time. The faction system, where player masses collide in PvP, has now received two changes that will make it even more action-packed.

Two new features for even more battles
What was announced? In an update post on AlbionOnline.com, the developers discussed the expansion of their major update “Realm Divided.” They announced two features for part 2 of the update, which is set to start on February 23, 2026.
The first feature in the new update is the battle standards. The flags of the factions can be carried to allied outposts in a kind of “Capture the Flag” mission to gain faction points. The longer they are carried, the more points can be earned.
However, the flags are also a target for the other factions, meaning that factions must defend their standard bearer, leading to new battles around this feature.
What other feature is coming? The second feature that comes with the update makes Albion Online even more dangerous. It involves the overhaul of bandit raids in the game. These will be fully integrated into the revamped faction war system with the update.
The event is set to begin as a “widespread race for supplies in multiple provinces” and later culminate “in two massive, cross-faction fortress sieges for valuable chests.”
According to the developers, the final battles will be about everything or nothing, as only the winners will receive the war loot.
Since its release, Albion Online has continually expanded. Currently, the focus of the patches is mainly on the faction system. The first part of the PvP update “Realm Divided” has already brought about many improvements: MMORPG from Germany overhauls its PvP, gives away free items under one condition.
