In the MMORPG EVE Online , the developers at CCP have banned a corporation, a complete guild, with more than 250 accounts. They are said to have been botting. CCP’s message is clear: “No one is immune. We will come for you if you bot.”
Where does the information come from? It is from CCP themselves. They want to release a report every month on how hard they are cracking down on violations in EVE Online. The three major issues are hacking, botting, and real-money trading.
The problem with botters particularly flared up in early 2018 in EVE Online: Honest players threatened to leave the MMORPG. Since then, CCP has taken a stricter approach and documents their actions publicly.

This many have been banned in the first half of 2019: The numbers are staggering. In the 6 months, there were already
- 4,385 account bans for hacking
- 12,446 account bans for botting
- 5,101 accounts for real-money trading
What kind of guild have they banned? In July 2019, CCP banned a complete corporation. The Icelanders clearly state who was affected. It was the “Southern Race Club,” which is part of the alliance “Iron Crown.”
It is said that this corporation was almost entirely made up of botters.
The activities of the guild were discussed on Reddit and in the official forums.

This is how EVE has taken action against them: CCP says they have leveled the guild to the ground and permanently banned every member of the corporation.
CCP states: “We want to send a message that we love our community and New Eden.”
They say:
“The message is simple. It doesn’t matter how large your organization or alliance is. It doesn’t matter how many accounts you have, or how much money you give us through Omega subscriptions, or how valuable you think you are to EVE Online.
You are not immune to the rules. If you bot, we will come for you.”
