The MMORPG Echo of Soul is not doing particularly well. Even the massive Phoenix update that was released at the end of 2017 could not change that. Now, new players are to be attracted with goodies.
Looking at the numbers from Steamcharts, they are devastating for the MMORPG Echo of Soul. On average, only 4 players are playing the MMO simultaneously through Steam. That is a significant loss from the once around 1,500 who were playing the MMO at the same time in summer 2015. But well: not all MMORPG players are on Steam.
Last year, countermeasures were initiated: The massive Phoenix update was supposed to turn things around for Echo of Soul. However, the downward trend could not be halted at least on Steam.
Phoenix did not rise from the ashes
Phoenix wanted to convince players with new content:
- The Paladin class was introduced, which can be specialized in two directions
- The level cap was raised to 78
- New dungeons and raids were added to the game
- Gameplay systems were revised, including the jewel system
- The database and game servers were optimized for better performance
- International servers were opened
In the end, however, it did not help. According to the reviews on Steam, the too-small play areas, the outdated graphics, and the repetitive gameplay are still criticized. For many, Echo of Soul is a typical Asian grinder that simply does not offer anything new or special. Even the Phoenix update could not change that.
A beginner package should fix it
Now the developers are trying to win new players for the MMO with goodies. Those who join can look forward to a welcome package that will be distributed in May. This includes:
- A 30-day blessing that gives you +3% attack, +3% defense, and 8% increased speed. It also includes a 20 percent EXP bonus. Additionally, the chance to find honor badges is increased by 20 percent
- 10 additional slots for the auction house. You will also receive a 50 percent discount on the fees you have to pay in the auction house
- You will also receive a bronze griffin and a red panda as pets
- Additionally, two bags with 16 slots each are included
