The MMORPG Crowfall is moving into a hotter phase. At least that’s what Creative Director J. Todd Coleman states, who provides interesting insights into the development.
What is Crowfall? The game describes itself as the most strategic MMO in the world. It is not a classic MMORPG, as you constantly have to discover new worlds and old areas are consumed by what is called Hunger. You will fight your way through campaigns within a limited time frame using MMORPG means. However, the achievements from these campaigns are taken into a persistent world, the Eternal Kingdom, and you continue to expand it.
Insights were shared: The developers showed the players where Crowfall currently stands and how far along they are in development. There were also financial insights, as the development team is reportedly receiving more millions for completion.
They also announced that they will soon launch a beta, and every supporter can be part of it.
Current status of the MMORPG Crowfall
Currently being worked on: Coleman reveals that the development is already in its final stages. Currently, they are still working on the “War of the Gods” update, which he sees as the last major milestone. They are close to “putting the pencils down,” says Coleman.
After that, there will only be the phase where they will fix all the bugs and polish everything again. During this phase, the developers also want to move the version to the test servers and let a few external eyes take a look.
Crowfall already has a kind of release plan.
Financial status: Coleman also provides a small insight into the financial aspect of the game. The studio recently received a financial injection of 12 million dollars, with which they aim to complete and release Crowfall.
Crowfall thus has a total budget of over 35 million dollars. This consists of previous investments and licensing of their MMO technology, but also through crowdfunding, which now contributes nearly 6 million dollars. An overview of revenue sources can be found on the official site:

Developer mentions Beta: Coleman then mentions a beta that could start soon. He describes the beta as a process where a larger number of players can test Crowfall.
To this end, he invites all players who have already registered on the Crowfall website. Coleman states that 300,000 people have already registered on the website, who will then be invited in waves.
Additionally, there are the 63,000 supporters that Crowfall has already counted. They will logically also get access to the beta.
However, Coleman does not specify when exactly the beta will start. He does say that the beta is just around the corner. It won’t be long.
If you want to have a chance to be part of the beta as well, you should register on the Crowfall website.
