The development of the MMORPG Camelot Unchained is steadily progressing. After the first beta has been running for a while, City State Entertainment is now working on completing one of the main features of Camelot Unchained: sieges. Players have loved it since Dark Age of Camelot.
This is the current state of Camelot Unchained: The upcoming MMORPG Camelot Unchained is currently in “Beta 1.” Since July 31, pre-orderers have been able to test the game and help with its development.
In the first beta, primarily PvP activities and gameplay are being tested.
The beta tests are indeed meant for testing the game and not for early access like so many AAA titles, for which their “beta tests” are actually just promo demos to hype up just before release. In Camelot Unchained, there is still heavy work being done on the game while it is already shown to players.
After Beta 1, two more betas will come before the release of Camelot Unchained.
Sieges – the epic battles in Camelot Unchained
What is Camelot Unchained about? In the world of Camelot Unchained, three factions are engaged in an ongoing battle against each other. The three factions are divided into so-called “realms”:
- the Arthurians
- the Vikings
- the Tuatha Dé Danann
The focus of Camelot Unchained is on PvP battles and massive clashes. The fight for territories and dominance is supposed to be central.
Camelot Unchained is thus in the tradition of “Dark Age of Camelot,” an MMORPG from 2001. To this day, it is considered by many as the “best PvP MMORPG of all time.” In DAOC, three factions are also at war with each other, battling for control of castles and relics during sieges.
What is happening right now: Currently, the developers are working on the sieges in Camelot Unchained during Beta 1. They are regularly releasing updates that inform testers about the current status of development.
In the last update from December 7, the focus is particularly on the quality of the sieges and the siege weapons. Currently, only the “Scorpions” exist for the siege: These are large, ballista-like siege weapons.
The new updates aim to ensure that interactions with these devices run more smoothly. Additionally, more siege devices are being worked on so that a range of different weapons will be available.
The goal is epic siege battles.
How can I participate? If you want to take a look at the game yourself, you need to pre-order Camelot Unchained via a Founder’s Pack. You will gain access to Beta 1 and all subsequent betas at certain levels.
Camelot Unchained is expected to not have a free-to-play model in the future. If you want to play Camelot Unchained, you will have to pay in any case.
