The MMORPG Bless Unleashed for Xbox One is currently in the 2nd Closed Beta. The testers are generally satisfied, but the combat system is something that many still do not like at all.
How is the Beta of Bless Unleashed being received? Bless Unleashed, the standalone offshoot of the unfortunate MMORPG Bless, is in its 2nd Closed Beta from July 11 to July 15. The testers have already gathered quite a bit of feedback. Players currently appreciate the following on Reddit:
- The beautiful graphics of the game
- Stable and good performance on Xbox One
- Few bugs. In fact, the developers removed 99% of the known issues from the 1st Beta.
- Good presence of the developers in the game as Game Masters and on social media during the Beta.
However, one thing currently stinks for almost all testers: the combat system!
Combat system far below expectations
What is the problem with the combat system? The unanimous opinion of the beta testers regarding the combat system is: Why the hell is it so slow?
Players on Reddit are already derogatorily calling it “Slow Unleashed”, as the fighting is so slow and sluggish, especially for melee classes. Here are a few statements from annoyed players on Reddit:
- “When I watch developer videos, the combat system looks fast, quick, and responsive. However, when I play it, I have a 2 to 3-second lag between the controller input and a reaction on the screen. It feels like two completely different games.”
- “I really have to say that the pace of the combat system is just a notch above a turn-based game.”
- “The stamina is so painfully limited that one might really think they are playing a horror game, where you are intentionally meant to feel desperate and helpless.”
- “Combos take forever to string together. There’s at least a 2-second delay between each part of the chain.”
The combat system was already sluggish in the 1st Beta, and fans are now slowly wondering when the developers will change anything. Others fear that Bless has been designed intentionally slow. After all, the devs closed other issues quite promptly.
That would be a big step back for many, as they had expected fast action gameplay like in TERA or Black Desert Online for Bless Unleashed. Both games are also available on Xbox One and are strong competition for Bless Unleashed.
