Kakao Games has announced MMORPG Black Desert Online (BDO) Seasons, for which you need to create special seasonal characters. How could the Seasons unfold?
What has been announced? On the official website of the successful MMORPG Black Desert, it has been announced that you can create a seasonal character on June 3rd, which you will then play in the summer season, scheduled to start on June 10th.
Exclusive rewards are promised. However, more is not officially known about the Seasons yet. Could they perhaps be similar to the Seasons in Diablo 3? There, players start from scratch each season, face special challenges, and try to get special items, as well as become the best of the season.

How could the Seasons unfold? There are some additional informations on reddit. A player explains how the Seasons in BDO unfold in Korea. They have been available there since March. This could be a good hint as to how they are possibly planned here.
- According to reddit user BDOBloo, they are not seasonal servers, but channels. These channels can then be connected with the character you create.
- Per season, it is possible to create one character.
- The Seasons are intended to allow you to reach the endgame faster and have to grind less. Therefore, there is bonus XP.
- There is special equipment and items that you only receive in the Seasons. In Korea, this is the Tuvala Gear.
- You receive Tuvala Gear as loot or by trading Tuvala ore. It is possible to improve this equipment with “Time Infused Black Stones.”
- There are also bonus skill points for story quests.
- There is a Combat Pass for seasonal characters. As part of this, you complete special missions. There are rewards for this.
- Special daily quests for the Seasons will also be introduced.
What happens when the Season ends? According to BDOBloo, seasonal characters are converted into regular ones. Some items from the Tuvala Gear are also converted into regular equipment that is bound to your character.
In addition, there are rewards for participating in the Seasons, such as gift boxes, emotes, weapons, and more.
Why is Kakao Games introducing these Seasons? There is no official explanation. But Seasons, like in Diablo 3, keep an online game interesting. Players often return happily to receive new rewards and compete in rankings with their fellow players. Similarly, it could be the case with Black Desert Online.
